Stanislav Shevchenko unanimously re-elected as President of the Volleyball Federation of Russia

 
President of the Volleyball Federation of Russia Stanislav Shevchenko has been re-elected during the Election Conference in Moscow. The Conference was attended by Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Volleyball Federation of Russia and Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolay Patrushev; and the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin. Shevchenko, a former international player for the Soviet Union, has been president of the Volleyball Federation of Russia since 2010. He is elected on the Board of Administration alongside Russian volleyball legends including former Russian Women’s National Team coach Nikolay Karpol (Honored Coach of Russia, Head of VC Uralochka-NTMK) and Men’s National Team Coach Gennady Shipulin (Honored Coach of Russia, Head of VC Belogorye) who will serve as Vice-Presidents. The third Vice-President, is Andrey Gorbenko, General Director of the Federation and the Chairman of the Beach Volleyball Council. Aleksander Yaremenko was also re-elected as the General Secretary of the new 25-member administration of the Volleyball Federation of Russia.Speaking after his re-election, the Russian Volleyball Federation President, Stanislav Shevchenko, said: “We have received a mandate of trust for another four years.  The main task of the Federation for this period is to win several medals at the Olympic Games, volleyball and beach volleyball, men and women. We look forward to these achievements. We already have five teams qualified in volleyball and beach volleyball.  We are waiting for the sixth Olympic ticket for women's beach volleyball team.  I am sure that they will be qualified, and we will have the maximum representation at the upcoming Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.”During the Assembly, a number of reports were presented, including the President’s report on the the achievements of Russian volleyball and on the work done to develop and increase the popularity of the sport in the country. A report on the work of the Organising Committee for preparations for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022 was presented by the LOC’s General Director, Roman Stanislavov.
