CEV President Aleksandar Boričić last Friday chaired a virtual meeting of the CEV Board of Administration, welcoming those members joining for the very first time after the elections held in October, as well as well as those returning for another term.The discussions revolved around the future of European Volleyball, with the Board of Administration members sharing their joint commitment and ambition to help grow the sport even further. An emphasis was put on TV, marketing and data collection to capitalise on the partnership deals signed in 2019 and early 2020 and to remain competitive in the European sport business industry. The CEV Board of Administration also finalised the composition of the CEV Commissions for the 2020-2024 term, appointing the respective Presidents, Secretaries and all remaining members. The CEV Commissions (Beach Volleyball, Coaches, Cups, Financial, Legal, Medical, Refereeing and Sports Organising) will support the work of the CEV Board of Administration in their respective areas and help draft proposals and plans to continue the development of volleyball, beach volleyball and snow volleyball around Europe. The ongoing priority is to deliver events that can inspire the next generation of Volleyball players in Europe as well as provide an iconic stage for the top players in the Continent to display their skill in front of cheering supporters.The CEV Board of Administration members also agreed on the establishment of a Development Working Group in charge of coordinating all projects dealing with the promotion of the sport among young people and the work done by Zonal Associations to ensure the overall growth of European Volleyball.Finally, to continue with the trend set by ‘Marshall Plan’ for European Volleyball launched in spring this year, the CEV Board of Administration endorsed a proposal to provide further financial support to members of the European Volleyball family so that activities can continue even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
